Describe your community involvement in Buda

I have proudly called Buda home since 2001. My husband and I have raised our children here, and now we are fortunate to watch our grandchildren grow up in this wonderful community. I actively contribute to our neighborhood by serving as the HOA President. Additionally, I support and sponsor local events like the Healthy Kids Running Series and the Buda Juneteenth Celebration. I also volunteer for community clean-up projects, including the Buda Trash Off.

How would you describe the progress to date on the 2022 transportation and parks bond implementation? What’s your favorite aspect of these improvements? Do you see any areas where corrections are needed?

The 2022 transportation and parks bond implementation has made significant strides, with several key projects already underway. Notably, Main Street East Extension. This project will improve the existing Main Street "Gateway Corridor" from IH 35 east to Firecracker Drive. An interim solution is being developed for the Main Street improvements to alleviate congestion and traffic backups at IH-35 and Main Street. My favorite aspect is ensuring smooth traffic flow and reducing unnecessary delays. Currently, I do not see any areas of corrections.

With the adoption of the 2025 city budget, how well do you think your priorities and those of your constituents are being addressed?

The adoption of the 2025 city budget reflects a strong alignment with both my priorities and those of my constituents. Key areas such as infrastructure improvements, community services, and sustainable growth have been appropriately funded, ensuring that our community’s needs are met. I am confident that this budget will effectively address our goals and enhance the quality of life for all Buda residents.

How will you ensure that the underserved areas and population of Buda, including the east side and its residents, will get the services they need?

As a councilmember at large, I serve the whole community. To ensure that underserved areas and populations, including the east side of Buda, receive the services they need, I have and will continue to prioritize equitable resource allocation and actively engage with community members to understand their specific needs. Additionally, I have and will continue to advocate for targeted programs and infrastructure improvements that directly benefit these areas, ensuring their voices are heard and addressed in city planning and budgeting.

With all the construction and development going on, how will you ensure an adequate water supply for existing and new residents?

Water supply concerns are not just local, they are regional and even statewide. I will advocate for sustainable water management practices and infrastructure upgrades. Additionally, as the newly appointed TML Region 10 President, I will work closely with our regional partners and local water authorities to implement long-term planning and conservation measures that address the growing demands of our regional community.

What will you do to promote housing that first-time buyers and older residents can afford?

To promote affordable housing for first-time buyers and older residents, I will advocate for policies that incentivize the development of diverse housing options, including affordable units and senior-friendly communities.
