1. In a few sentences, tell us about your background, focusing on your education, professional experience, and leadership roles that prepared you for this position?
I served over a decade in the U.S. Army, rising to Platoon Sergeant with multiple combat deployments before my career was cut short by injury. I hold a degree in Music and am nearing completion of my Bachelor’s in Criminal Psychology. In addition, I’ve built and lead a successful construction and design business in Kyle. These experiences—military service, education, and entrepreneurship—have strengthened my leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, preparing me to serve our community as Mayor.

2. Many residents are dissatisfied with road conditions, traffic congestion, and limited sidewalks in Kyle. What specific steps would you take to improve mobility without overburdening taxpayers?
Improving mobility starts with prioritizing the basics like repairing and maintaining existing roads before expanding. I would push for smarter traffic planning, including improved signal timing, turn lanes, and partnerships with regional transit agencies to reduce congestion. For sidewalks, we can integrate them into new developments and pursue state and federal grants to fund safe connections without adding tax burdens. By focusing on efficiency, leveraging outside funding, and ensuring developers share responsibility for infrastructure, we can improve Kyle’s mobility while protecting taxpayers.
3. Many in our city are fearful of the warrantless and extrajudicial removal of Latino members of our community by federal authorities. Where do you stand on the federal government’s deportation agenda?
I believe in protecting the rights and dignity of every resident in Kyle. While I support legal immigration and the importance of following the law, I strongly oppose warrantless or extrajudicial actions that create fear in our community. Local government should focus on building trust, ensuring due process, and protecting families who are here legally and contributing to our city. As Mayor, I would work to keep Kyle a safe and welcoming place, where all residents feel respected and included.
4. The cost of water utilities in Kyle are going up and residents are concerned about the long term sustainability of our water. How can the city ensure that we have a secure water supply for the long term future of Kyle?
Water security is critical to Kyle’s future. Rising costs make it clear that we need both smarter conservation and stronger partnerships. I would prioritize regional collaboration with water authorities, invest in modern infrastructure to reduce waste, and promote responsible development that doesn’t outpace our supply. By expanding conservation programs, exploring alternative sources like rainwater harvesting and reclaimed water, and holding developers accountable for sustainable planning, we can protect our resources while easing costs on residents. Ensuring a reliable water supply means planning not just for today, but for the next generation of Kyle families.
5. Kyle has seen rapid commercial growth, often dominated by fast food and corporate chain stores. What policies or incentives would you propose to attract and support local businesses, small retailers, and locally owned restaurants, while maintaining the city’s unique character?
Kyle’s character comes from its people, not just chain stores. I would advocate for policies that make it easier for small businesses to thrive, like streamlined permitting, tax incentives, and grants for local entrepreneurs. We should also prioritize local vendors in city contracts and create designated spaces in new developments for small retailers and restaurants. By promoting “shop local” campaigns and supporting events that highlight our homegrown businesses, we can strengthen our economy while preserving Kyle’s unique identity. Supporting local businesses isn’t just good economics, it’s how we keep Kyle’s spirit alive as we grow.
6. Compensation for Kyle’s mayor and council members has been a regular topic of conversation in Kyle. Should compensation be lower, stay the same, or be higher?
For me, serving as Mayor isn’t about compensation, it’s about service. That said, I understand the importance of fair pay for council members. Without it, only those with the financial means can participate, which limits representation. Reasonable compensation should reflect the living means of our community, not exceed it. This ensures everyday residents, not just the wealthy or retired, can serve, creating a council that better represents Kyle’s diverse community. Fair and transparent compensation makes public service accessible while keeping the focus where it belongs: serving the people.
7. Kyle has plans for parks, art installations, downtown developments, a sportsplex, and more. What possible City projects are you most (or least) looking forward to?
I’m excited about projects that bring people together and strengthen community pride, like expanding parks, building safe trails, and creating public spaces for families. I also believe downtown development and local art installations are key to preserving Kyle’s unique identity as we grow. What I’m least supportive of are projects that focus on flashy spending without long-term value or sustainability. Every dollar should improve the quality of life for residents. I’ll prioritize projects that provide lasting benefits, safer neighborhoods, stronger community connections, and spaces that reflect the heart of Kyle.
