Join KBAD's support of Hays Hope 2 Go
The Kyle/Buda-Area Democrats has community service built into the core of its mission, and there is no better way to help our neighbors in need than making sure they are well fed.
The KBAD board has identified HaysHope2Go organization as a worthy organization that has done great work in the last year that we would like to support.
HaysHope2Go is a stand-alone food program serving Hays CISD families. It works to supplement the work of local food banks, food pantries and social service agencies that have become overburdened with requests for food and assistance, especially during the pandemic. Since embarking on this journey over last year’s holiday season, the community has sustained this program aimed at removing barriers for Hays CISD families and fill in the gaps that families typically experience even with assistance from State and Federal programs, the district’s school nutrition and local non-profits.
HaysHope2Go is currently working on a project called Christmas2Go that will provide 115 families with 6-7 days worth of meals for students and their families while students are out over the winter break.
Since November 2019, Hays Hope 2 Go, which focuses on helping food-insecure families in Hays CISD has done the following:
- Provided a week's worth of groceries to 1131 families.
- Provided take-home food bags to 986 students.
- Served more than 7,000 people and more than 107,000 meals.
Please consider making a donation to KBAD by noon on December 18 so we can write a check for the amount we raise and give that to Hays Hope 2 Go.
Keep in mind when contributing that ActBlue charges us a 3.95% processing fee for all donations we receive.
